The Inner Camino
Walking the Camino de Santiago for the inner journey? Learn how to here
‘Your outer journey may contain a million steps; your inner journey only has one: the step you are taking right now.’ - Eckhart Tolle
What are you seeking?
To release the past so that you no longer feel bound by it
To let go of anger, bitterness and regret
To accept who you are now
To find a broader and deeper meaning to your life journey
To re-engage with your creativity
To connect to the essence of who you are
To let go of roles that no longer serve you
To connect to your ultimate purpose and legacy contribution
To transition psychologically from the first half into the second half of life
How well do you know yourself from the inside out? Know how to live in harmony with the laws of life? Adapt to life’s ever present flux and change? Let go of the ‘old’ to embrace the ‘new’? Feel free to fully enjoy life?
Many people each year choose to walk the Camino de Santiago as a catalyst for self-discovery; the action of walking helps free up the spirit and the soul to see yourself, others around you and the world at large differently. The Inner Camino program helps you walk this path.
Program Overview
This program will illuminate how the Camino de Santiago provides the environment for personal transformation. Using the model of the Hero’s Journey, and incorporating important aspects of the Heroine’s Journey, the program will focus on:
Endings. Reflect on what’s ‘calling’ you now:
What are you yearning for or what is life asking from you now?
Where are you stuck going round in circles?
What people, things or circumstances aren’t working or need pruning?
Transformation. What transformational opportunity is available to you in:
Reviewing your personal narrative to gain a clearer perspective on your life story
Connecting to the essence of who you are (‘being’ v ‘doing‘, ‘soulful self’ v ‘conditioned self’)
Identifying what a meaningful life looks like to you
New You. Know and express a larger version of yourself:
Engage life with new creativity, freedom and joy
Connect with community
Continue to grow and mature towards wholeness in a soulful way
This Program Is Ideal If

‘Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise so I am changing myself’. - Rumi
The Ordinary World
Module 1
Self-Awareness
Most of us live in a familiar, comfortable environment, keeping the same beliefs, behaviours and understandings. We may also have a limited awareness to our problems and we fear what change brings. As a result, we can get stuck through complacency and lack of challenge until we are forced to respond.
In your life, what stirrings of dissatisfaction or unease do you feel?
The Call to Adventure
Module 2
Self-Direction
Our ordinary world is no longer in harmony because of an (unexpected) external life event or deep yearning for change from within. The Call informs us that it is time to change or adapt. By accepting the Call, we choose to become more than we are today. By refusing the Call we decline the journey of human growth, self-discovery and self-integration.
In your life, what are you feeling called to do or not do?
The First Threshold
Module 3
Balance
The first threshold is the pivotal moment when we leave behind our ordinary world and step into an unknown landscape. This is the decision point and it often has to be made in the face of resistance, internal and external.
In your life, what significant decision do you have to make or what ‘threshold’ has to be crossed?
The Road of Trials
Module 4
Presence
The purpose of the journey is to learn and grow. In the unknown, we face many new challenges for which we may not know how to respond. We might be tempted to avoid the ‘pain and suffering’ of the challenge, however we are being asked to consider the gift on offer from going through the ‘trial’; new learning, resilience, strength, letting go of the ‘old’, reframing/restructuring perspectives.
In your life, what challenges do you face and what will you learn by embracing them?
The Ordeal
Module 5
Empathy
The Ordeal is the moment in our journey where we face our greatest challenge. It is a moment of truth where everything is put on the line and is often a time of great emotional upheaval. We surrender our desire to ‘control’ and become open to transformation in union with the larger story that is now unfolding around us.
In your life, what do you fear most or what ‘unfinished business’ is holding you back?
Transformation
Module 6
Passion
The true reward of the journey is our internal transformation. It begins with a revelation which can be marked by a sudden shift in our thinking, perspectives and attitudes about ourselves and our world.
In your life, what might this transformation look like?
Consolidation
Module 7
Creativity
Consolidation takes time as our larger story unfolds into our consciousness. Changes are manifested in our behaviour which is congruent with our new view of life. We get to know more deeply who we have become, look to the new possibilities that lie ahead and reflect upon our relationships and commitments for the future.
In your life, how will you fully integrate what you have newly learned about yourself?
The Return Threshold
Module 8
Fearlessness
When we return to our Ordinary World further obstacles may have to be faced because of our transformation. The new version of who we are may ‘threaten’ the status quo or we may not want to rejoin our community because we have ‘transcended’ it. Our journey is to find a way to bring who we have become out into ‘our’ world.
In your life, what still might stop you from bringing out your uniqueness into the world?
Return With The Elixir
Module 9
Authenticity
We return to the Ordinary World transformed; with something to share in support of our community, in ways we could not do so before. We can offer a solution to a problem, new skills, broader expertise, fresh perspective on life and deeper insights. We may take on added responsibilities and become mentors/elders to pass on our wisdom to those ‘on the path’ behind us.
In your life, what is the difference that you would like to make in your world?
